- Does anyone have a fix for the incompatibility between Smith Micro
- Software's MacComCenter fax software and Microsoft Word 6.0.1 (Power Mac
- 6100/66, O/S 7.5.1), namely, the fax print driver totally and weirdly
- alters just about all the format parameters? That's the fax software that
- US Robotics ships with their Sportster 28.8 for the Mac. Smith Micro
- Software's tech support says they have no fix and take no responsibility
- for the problem: "it's just how Word interprets our print parameters".
-
- To all who have complained about US Robotics' cutomer support, add my
- name. It's the worst!
-
- Their product seems very sensitive to heat and needs just the right
- initialization string, or else it cuts-out of PPP connections on a regular
- basis. I use AT&F1&A3&B1&M4&H1&N0&R2&S1Q0E0V1X4. And I place the unit
- near a cold window.

- P.S. What's the best 28.8 modem hardware and fax software for the PowerMac?
